I have worked in the construction industry for the past 30 years having started my working life with Balfour Beatty back in the late 80’s and where I completed a 6 year training scheme. During this period I worked on a variety of projects up to £50 million in value. My main role was that of Site Engineer although the scheme enabled me to gain additional experience in other disciplines including Quantity Surveying, Buying, Estimating, Programming and, latterly, Office Management.
In 1994 I became a Member of the Chartered Institute of Building (MCIOB) and also joined Ashe Construction (Southern) Ltd as a Site Manager at a time when the Ashe Construction Group had a turnover of circa £70 million p.a.
During the course of the next decade I worked my way up through the company, gaining additional experience as a Contracts Manager, Regional Manager, Construction Director and eventually Managing Director.
In 2004 I became a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building (FCIOB) before, in 2006, completing a management buyout of the Ashe Southern business which brought with it offices in both London and Southampton and a turnover of circa £16 million p.a. and I remained in the business until late 2016.
In 2015 I decided to continue my professional development by re-training as an Adjudicator in which respect I qualified in early 2017. I subsequently went on to become an accredited Mediator too. At this point I set up CRH Dispute Resolution Services in order to offer my services in all forms of dispute resolution.
In 2020 joined the 'RICS Low Value Dispute Panel' and then progressed to the main 'RICS Construction Adjudication Panel' in 2021.
I am a firm believer in the fact that the construction industry is a people industry so it is imperative that I earn the trust and respect of my clients in order to instil in them full confidence in the services I provide.
I therefore take personal responsibility for every appointment, in order to ensure that the highest possible level of service is provided to my clients, with integrity being maintained throughout the whole process.
CRH has the ability to see both sides of any problem which might give rise to a dispute which means that we are able to remain one step ahead of the other party.
